How to motivate people to use Balanced Scorecard and KPI in logistics? The question is really actual for any big implementation, here is one idea: “Motivate people with less paperwork”.
Less Paperwork. Most people (especially technical and creative people) hate doing paperwork. Using the Balanced Scorecard can mean doing less paperwork. Instead of writing reports, creating diagrams, and so forth, you can set up the system to generate the necessary reports automatically and send them to top management. And instead of reading all those reports, top managers can review the current value of your Key Performance Indicators any time they like, automatically. Of course, some indicators cannot be fully automated—but be sure to automate as many of your indicators as you possibly can. This will reduce paperwork, reduce the chance for mistakes, and definitely improve everyone’s motivation to work with the Balanced Scorecard.
